Resident Evil 2 (BIOHAZARD RE:2) is Capcom's full remake of its 1998 survival horror classic, rebuilt on the RE Engine. You follow either Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie police officer, or Claire Redfield, who has come looking for her brother, through a Raccoon City overrun by an epidemic. An over-the-shoulder camera takes the place of the original's fixed angles, but the spirit is unchanged: ammunition is scarce, inventory space is tight and the tension rarely lets up.
- Managing scarcity: bullets and healing items are rare, and the limited inventory forces difficult choices.
- The police station: a maze-like building that opens up step by step through keys, puzzles and shortcuts.
- Mr. X: a relentless pursuer that stalks you from room to room and makes you rethink every move.
- Two campaigns: Leon and Claire live through the same disaster from different angles, each with their own weapons and encounters.
- Tough zombies: they take punishment and get back up, so corridors you thought were safe can turn dangerous again.
- Bonus modes: extra short scenarios and challenges unlocked once the campaign is complete.
