God of War Ragnarök, developed by Santa Monica Studio, continues the Norse story begun in God of War (2018). Kratos and his son Atreus face the winter of Fimbulwinter, the announced prelude to Ragnarök, while Odin and Thor tighten their grip on the nine realms. The game retains its predecessor's close single-take camera and its blend of dense combat, semi-open exploration and constant dialogue between the characters, but considerably expands the number of accessible regions.
What awaits you
- Three-weapon combat — the Leviathan axe that freezes and returns on command, the flaming Blades of Chaos and a third weapon obtained along the way.
- Playable companion — Atreus intervenes with the bow during fights and becomes playable in certain chapters.
- Nine realms — vast semi-open areas to explore, with optional sectors, puzzles and optional encounters.
- Equipment and skills — armours, axe handles, talismans and abilities to upgrade according to your play style.
- Bosses and creatures — a wide Norse bestiary, with major, lavishly staged confrontations.
