The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is the upgraded release of Bethesda Game Studios' open-world role-playing game. You arrive in Skyrim, a northern province divided by civil war, just as dragons return after centuries. As the Dragonborn you can absorb their souls and use their language as a weapon, but the real appeal is freedom: you decide who your character becomes and where to go next.
What awaits you
- A large open world: mountains, tundra, cities, ancient Dwemer ruins and Nordic tombs to explore at your own pace.
- Dragon shouts: powers learned from ancient walls, ranging from a fiery breath to slowing down time.
- Skills that grow with use: you improve at what you actually do, with no fixed class.
- Guilds and factions: the Companions, the Dark Brotherhood, the Thieves Guild and the College of Winterhold each have their own storyline.
What this edition contains
The Special Edition combines the base game with its three expansions, Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. It also brings technical upgrades over the original release: a 64-bit engine, volumetric lighting, dynamic reflections and better stability.
