Roots of Yggdrasil is a roguelike city-building game set among the nine realms of Norse mythology. This is a Steam key: you redeem it on your own Steam account and download the game from there. It was developed and published by ManaVoid Entertainment.
What to expect
- A story in which Sunna and her Viking tribe, trapped in a time loop, try to reach the top of a fractured Yggdrasil
- Settlements you found on procedurally generated islands, racing against time before the Ginnungagap catches up with you
- A deck of building cards that you adjust before each run, so that every loop offers different options
- Characters called Scions, who bring their own playstyles, bonuses and modifiers to each loop
- The Holt, your permanent home and hub, where you unlock upgrades that carry over to later runs
Who is it for?
Players who enjoy strategy and city building and who like the idea of starting over with new knowledge after each failure. It suits those who are fond of Norse legends and of games built around short, repeatable expeditions, with plenty of variety from one attempt to the next.
