Combat Mission Cold War is a military simulation and strategy game that recreates imagined clashes between NATO and Soviet forces around the Fulda Gap in West Germany. This is a Steam key: you redeem it on your own Steam account and download the game from there. It was released in November 2021.
What to expect
- Command for either side, leading company teams or battalion task forces in the period from 1979 to 1982
- Fifteen standalone scenarios and three full campaigns: a US training-centre campaign, a US campaign in West Germany offered in 1982 and 1979 versions, and a Soviet campaign following the opening days of an invented invasion
- Detailed vehicles of the era, including tanks and mechanised infantry, plus air support and helicopters
- Scenarios of different scales, from small platoon actions to large battalion battles
- Period features such as cluster munitions and early electronic warfare
Who is it for?
Fans of military history and of wargames who enjoy testing what-if situations and comparing equipment from different years. It is a game for patient players who like to plan operations carefully rather than react quickly.
