Total War: Attila is the strategy game from Creative Assembly devoted to the end of Antiquity, around 400 AD. Like all Total War games, it combines a turn-based campaign map, where you manage provinces, economy, diplomacy and armies and real-time battles gathering thousands of soldiers. Its tone is distinctive: here, you do not build a triumphant empire, you try to survive its collapse, under the pressure of migrations and a cooling climate.
What awaits you
- Turn-based campaign — recruit, tax, build, negotiate alliances and manage entire provinces.
- Real-time battles — formations, terrain, morale and flanks count as much as the number of men.
- Migration mechanic — some factions have no fixed territory and move their entire people in search of lands.
- Fire and razing — you can burn down a city rather than occupy it, a scorched-earth strategy fully embraced.
- Climate cooling — the northern provinces gradually become less fertile, which pushes peoples southward.
