Total War: WARHAMMER II continues Creative Assembly's adaptation of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, this time in the New World: Ulthuan, Naggaroth, the Southlands and Lustria. The game introduces the Vortex campaign, an objective-driven race in which each race tries to control or break the great magical maelstrom, giving the campaign a narrative thread and a tension absent from a simple territorial conquest.
What awaits you
- Four base-game races — High Elves, Dark Elves, Skaven and Lizardmen, with very distinct campaign mechanics.
- Vortex campaign — a series of rituals to complete before the other factions, punctuated by ritual attacks.
- Magic and monsters — war dinosaurs, hydras, dragons and infernal Skaven machines.
- Simplified naval battles — fleets move on the campaign map, with strategic sea routes.
- Legendary Lords — named characters with item quests and their own skill trees.
- Diplomacy and confederations — absorb allied factions rather than conquering them.
