Total War: Attila is a strategy game from Creative Assembly set at the end of Antiquity, around the year 400. Like every Total War title, it pairs a turn-based campaign map, where you run provinces, economy, diplomacy and armies, with real-time battles involving thousands of soldiers. Its tone is unusual: you are not building a triumphant empire but trying to survive the collapse of one, under pressure from mass migrations and a cooling climate.
What awaits you
- Turn-based campaign: recruit, tax, build, negotiate alliances and manage whole provinces.
- Real-time battles: formations, terrain, morale and flanking matter as much as the number of troops.
- Migration: some factions have no fixed territory and move their entire people in search of new land.
- Fire and razing: you can burn a city down instead of occupying it, a scorched-earth approach built into the game.
- Climate cooling: northern provinces gradually become less fertile, which pushes peoples towards the south.
Before you order
This is a Steam key for a Windows PC, and a Steam account is required. As a guide, plan for a quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and a dedicated graphics card. The large battles put most of the load on the processor, so it is the processor, rather than the graphics card, that usually limits smoothness.
Activation and delivery
The key is sent to you by e-mail within 24 hours of payment. In Steam, open Games, choose Activate a Product on Steam and enter the code. The game is added to your library permanently and can be downloaded again on any PC signed in to your account. An invoice is included, and support is available by e-mail.
