Split Fiction is the co-op adventure by the Swedish studio Hazelight, to whom we already owe A Way Out and It Takes Two. Two writers, Mio and Zoe, find themselves trapped in a machine meant to exploit their imagination: they then alternately travel through one's science-fiction universes and the other's fantasy worlds. Like the studio's previous games, the title is played exclusively in pairs, in permanent split screen and constantly reinvents its mechanics: each level offers new abilities that serve only there and force the two players to coordinate.
What awaits you
- Compulsory co-op — the game cannot be played alone, each puzzle is designed for two pairs of hands.
- Permanent split screen — you see what the other is doing continuously, which makes communication natural.
- Alternating universes — science-fiction worlds and fantasy worlds that follow one another with their own rules.
- Renewed mechanics — new abilities in each chapter, rarely reused elsewhere.
