Payday 2 is a co-op first-person shooter developed by Overkill Software. You form a team of four robbers and take on contract after contract: banks, jewellers, laboratories, convoys. Each heist can be played in two radically different ways — in total stealth, or in a frontal assault against increasingly heavy waves of police.
What awaits you
- Two approaches per contract — silent infiltration with cameras to neutralise and hostages to control, or forcing your way through and holding position until the getaway.
- Four specialisations — Mastermind, Enforcer, Technician and Ghost, with skill trees that define very different roles within the team.
- Weapon customisation — barrels, stocks, sights, magazines and paints, with a real impact on the statistics.
- Progression and loot — infamy levels, end-of-mission reward cards and gear to unlock over time.
- Huge amount of content — the game received years of updates, with dozens of heists and playable characters.
- Genuine co-operation — stealth contracts demand strict coordination: a single player spotted tips the whole mission over.
Activation on Steam
Open Steam, go to Games then Activate a Product on Steam and enter the key. This key is a worldwide version: no regional restriction, activation possible from Switzerland. This is the base game; the many heist DLCs are separate products.
System requirements
The game dates from 2013 and remains very accessible: a 64-bit Windows PC with a dual- or quad-core processor, 4 to 8 GB of RAM and an entry-level graphics card is enough. Allow around thirty gigabytes of disk space with the accumulated updates.
