Minecraft Dungeons is an action and loot game, a dungeon crawler, developed by Mojang Studios. It uses the look of Minecraft but plays very differently: a top-down view, real-time combat and randomised loot. There is no building and no crafting. The emphasis is on exploring generated dungeons, collecting gear and playing together. The Ultimate Edition combines the base game with its expansions.
What the game offers
- Isometric action: melee weapons, bows and armour dropped by enemies, with random rarities and enchantments.
- Enchantments: each item has slots you can upgrade, so you can build a style such as heavy melee, ranged fire or summons.
- Artefacts: active items with special effects, including totems, flaming arrows and the summoning of an allied wolf or golem.
- Co-op for up to four players: online or in split screen, with difficulty that adapts to the number of participants.
- Levels of rising difficulty: each mission can be replayed at a higher tier for better loot.
What this edition contains
The Ultimate Edition includes the base game and the six expansions: Jungle Awakens, Creeping Winter, Howling Peaks, Flames of the Nether, Hidden Depths and Echoing Void.
Before you order
This is a Windows key, meant for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The game is undemanding: a dual-core or quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and an entry-level graphics card are enough, and it runs well on laptops. Allow around ten gigabytes of disk space with the expansions.
Activation and delivery
The key is sent by e-mail within 24 hours of payment. Go to redeem.microsoft.com, or open the Xbox app on Windows, sign in with your Microsoft account and enter the code. The game then installs from the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app. An invoice is included, and support is available by e-mail.
