This listing is for Microsoft Access 2016, the relational database application from the Office family, sold on its own as a one-off purchase for 1 PC. It suits data that has outgrown a spreadsheet: customer files, inventories, intervention tracking, stock records or a library catalogue.
What you can build

Access or Excel?
Excel is strong at calculation and one-off analysis. Access is the better tool when several people enter data, when the same information repeats (one customer across hundreds of orders) or when volumes pass tens of thousands of rows. The two work well together, since import and export are built in.
Good to know before you order
Access 2016 has reached the end of Microsoft support. It remains fully functional and the .accdb format is compatible with newer versions, but it no longer receives patches. It fits an older PC, an existing database that needs maintaining, or a limited budget.
