METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is Konami's remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, originally released in 2004. It follows Naked Snake sent into the heart of the Soviet jungle in the middle of the 1960s, on an infiltration mission that becomes the cornerstone of the whole timeline of the series. The story, the dialogue and the mission structure are those of the original; the game has been entirely rebuilt on a modern engine.
What awaits you
- Infiltration in a natural setting — camouflage to choose according to the terrain, a concealment-index system that rewards observation.
- Survival — treating your wounds one by one, hunting to feed yourself, managing your stamina: mechanics that are rare in the genre.
- Memorable boss battles — the confrontations against the Cobra unit are renowned for their particular rules, each demanding a different approach.
- Free approach — getting through the game without killing anyone remains possible, as in the original.
- Technical overhaul — models, vegetation and lighting redone, with the option to play with modernised controls or in a scheme close to the period version.
