Kaspersky Standard 2024 is the entry tier of Kaspersky's home security range. This key licenses one device for one year and is issued for the Europe region. It concentrates on core protection and leaves out the add-ons found in the higher tiers.
What the protection covers
- Real-time antivirus: files you open, download or copy from a USB drive are checked before they run.
- Behaviour-based detection: flags unknown threats from what they do, without waiting for a signature.
- Anti-ransomware: stops the encryption of your documents and helps restore the files that were affected.
- Firewall: filters incoming and outgoing connections, with stricter rules on public networks.
- Secure payment: opens banking sites in a browser kept separate from the rest of the system.
- Anti-phishing: blocks pages that imitate a bank or a well-known service.
What to know before ordering
Standard does not include an unlimited VPN or a password manager (these belong to the Plus tier), nor identity protection or parental controls (Premium tier). The key is issued for the Europe region, so activate it from a country in that region. It works on Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 (SP1), macOS, Android and iOS, and you choose the single device to protect; the firewall and secure payment features are specific to Windows. An internet connection is needed for activation and for antivirus database updates.
Activation and delivery
The activation key is sent by e-mail within 24 hours of payment. Sign in to My Kaspersky, add the activation code, then install the application on the device you have chosen; the licence is applied automatically. The 12 months start at activation, not on the purchase date.
