This is a Steam key to redeem on your own Steam account. Inscryption is made by Daniel Mullins Games, the author of Pony Island and The Hex, and published by Devolver Digital. It carries a PEGI 16 rating and mixes three genres: a roguelike deckbuilder, escape-room style puzzles and psychological horror. The tone is deliberately strange, and the secrets hidden in the cards and in the cabin are a central part of the experience.
What to expect
- Card battles in which you assemble a deck of woodland creatures, obtaining new cards by unusual and sometimes grim methods.
- Puzzles to solve inside and around Leshy's cabin, with secrets hidden behind its walls.
- A dark, unsettling atmosphere in which the cards themselves hold mysteries.
- A story that takes unexpected turns as you progress.
Who is it for?
Players aged 16 and over who enjoy strategy and card games and do not mind a disturbing mood. Fans of roguelike runs and of puzzle-driven mysteries will find both here, while those who dislike horror themes may prefer to look elsewhere. It is a title for patient players who like to piece things together, try different approaches and take in a story that is meant to unsettle. Those who prefer light-hearted card games should know that the mood here is dark throughout.
