Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software for Warner Bros. Games. It is set in the wizarding world in the 19th century, well before the events most people know. You create your own student, who joins Hogwarts exceptionally in the fifth year, get sorted into one of the four houses and learn magic while looking into an ancient power linked to your character. The castle, Hogsmeade and the surrounding Highlands make up a world you can explore freely.
What the game offers
- A castle you can explore: classrooms, shifting corridors, moving portraits, common rooms and secret passages.
- Magical combat: spells grouped by type, combined with parries, dodges and combos that depend on timing.
- Lessons and learning: potions, herbology, transfiguration and spells that unlock new abilities and items.
- A Scottish open world: villages, caves, camps and dungeons to explore on foot, by broom or on a flying creature.
- The Room of Requirement: a personal space to furnish, with a vivarium for looking after magical creatures.
