ESET Internet Security is the middle tier of ESET's home range, supplied here as a licence for one PC for one year. It goes further than NOD32 Antivirus, which only detects and blocks threats, but stops short of Smart Security Premium, which also includes a password manager and encryption. It suits a single family or office computer.
What is included
- ESET antivirus engine: continuous scanning of files, mail and web traffic, known for staying unobtrusive on modest hardware.
- Personal firewall: checks every application that tries to reach the network and adjusts its rules to the type of connection.
- Anti-spam: filters junk mail and e-mail scam attempts.
- Parental control: restricts the categories of sites that can be opened and limits time spent on screen.
- Payment protection: opens banking sites in an environment kept apart from the rest of the system.
- Exploit blocking: stops attackers from abusing vulnerabilities in browsers and document readers.
Before you order
The licence covers 1 PC and runs for 12 months from activation. Supported systems are Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 (SP1), in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. The requirements are light: roughly 1 GB of RAM and 1 GB of disk space. An Internet connection is needed to activate the licence and to receive definition updates.
Activation and delivery
The key is sent by e-mail within 24 hours of payment. Install the software, choose the option to use a purchased licence key and type in the code. Adding the licence to an ESET HOME account makes a later reinstallation easier. Support is available by e-mail.
