Corel VideoStudio Pro X9 is video editing software for home users and hobby filmmakers. You can assemble clips shot on a phone, an action camera or a camcorder, trim the parts you do not need, add titles, transitions and music, and export a film that is ready to share. The storyboard view and the multi-track timeline make it quick to learn without limiting more ambitious projects. The licence is perpetual, and the listing states that it can be installed on an unlimited number of PCs.
What you can do with it
- Multi-track editing: up to 21 tracks of video, images, titles and audio, layered on one timeline.
- Effects library: a large selection of transitions, filters, animated titles and credit templates.
- Green screen keying: replace the background behind a subject filmed in front of a plain backdrop.
- Multi-camera editing: synchronise several angles of the same scene and switch between them.
- Stabilisation and correction: reduce camera shake and adjust brightness, contrast and colours.
- Audio tools: mixing, background-noise reduction and automatic lowering of music under a voice.
Before you order
This is a 64-bit program for Windows. It belongs to the X9 generation, which dates from several years ago: it remains perfectly usable for everyday editing, but it does not support the newest video formats that appeared after its release. Please check that your version of Windows is compatible before ordering.
