Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the role-playing game from the French studio Sandfall Interactive, praised for its setting and combat system. Each year, an entity called the Paintress writes a number on a monolith and everyone who has reached that age disappears. You follow Expedition 33, sent to put an end to this cycle. Combat is turn-based but demands constant involvement: parry, dodge and counter-attack in real time during enemy assaults.
What awaits you
- Active turn-based combat — parries and dodges to execute at the right moment during enemy attacks, with counter-attacks as the reward.
- A fantastical Belle Époque setting — art direction inspired by early 20th-century France, reinterpreted as dark dreamscape.
- Characters with their own mechanics — each member of the expedition has a distinct system of resources and skills.
- Pictos and Luminas — a system of equipment and passive skills to combine in order to build your characters.
