Bootleg Steamer is a rogue-like trading game set in Prohibition-era America, released in 2024. This listing is a Steam key: you redeem it on your own Steam account and the game is added to your library. You captain a smuggling vessel, buying alcohol cheaply from underground suppliers and selling it where demand is highest, while weather, patrols and mafia dealings keep every run unpredictable.
What to expect
- Six captains with different strengths and weaknesses, suited to different strategies.
- Over fifty maps across the American continent between 1920 and 1933, each with its own look and challenge.
- 60 ships and 60 crew members to choose from, 15 pets to adopt and 10 special abilities to use at the right moment.
- Mafia contracts and favours that can open doors but have to be repaid.
- Sea parties and local events that tie your actions to the 1920s.
Who is it for?
A fit for fans of strategy and trading games who enjoy replayable runs, route planning and careful management of supplies. The focus is on thinking and decisions rather than reflexes, so anyone after fast action may find the pace slow. Each run offers different maps, crews and choices, so no two voyages need to feel the same.
