Avast Premium Security 2024 is a paid antivirus suite for one PC for one year. Beyond the protection found in the free edition, it adds a firewall, a ransomware shield, webcam access control, protection against fake banking sites and an isolated environment for testing suspicious files.
What is included
- Real-time scanning: files that are opened, downloaded or copied are checked before they run.
- Behaviour-based detection: watches what programs actually do and stops those acting like malware, even without a known signature.
- Firewall: manages connections application by application and applies stricter rules on public networks.
- Ransomware shield: protects the Documents, Pictures and Desktop folders from unauthorised encryption.
- Real Site: guards against redirection to a counterfeit banking website when you enter your credentials.
- Webcam protection: prevents applications you have not approved from using the camera.
- Sandbox: opens a suspicious file in a space separated from the rest of the system.
