Among Us is InnerSloth's social deduction game, the title that turned "impostor" into an everyday word. A group of players act as the crew of a spaceship and have to finish maintenance tasks, while one or more impostors secretly sabotage the ship and eliminate crew members one at a time. Each time a body is found, an emergency meeting is called: everyone makes accusations, defends themselves and votes on who to eject. Rounds are short, the rules are simple and the whole game rests on conversation.
- Two opposing roles: as a crewmate you complete tasks or unmask the traitors; as an impostor you eliminate players and sow doubt.
- Meetings that decide the game: votes hinge on alibis, observed movements and how credible each player sounds.
- Several maps: a ship, a planetary base and an airship, each with its own vents, sabotage points and blind spots.
- Sabotage: cut the lights, trigger an oxygen leak or overload the reactor to split the group.
- Public or private games: play online with strangers, or open a closed lobby for friends with custom rules.
What to know before you order
This is a Steam key for the PC version. The game is light: an entry-level processor, 1 to 2 GB of RAM and less than 1 GB of disk space are enough on Windows. It is an online multiplayer game, so a working Internet connection is essential. Many groups also use an external voice tool such as Discord to talk during meetings, which is strongly recommended but not included.
