The Evil Within 2 is the survival horror by Tango Gameworks, the studio founded by Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil. In it you rejoin detective Sebastian Castellanos, who plunges willingly into the STEM system to find his daughter Lily, thought to be dead. The virtual city of Union, where he lands, breaks apart around him: the streets fold in on themselves, the buildings reorganise and creatures born from the minds of others who are connected roam it freely. Compared with the first instalment, the game opens up considerably, with semi-open zones to explore between the more directed chapters.
What awaits you
- Semi-open zones — districts to search freely, with rare resources and side missions.
- Crafting in the field — making ammunition, syringes and traps with recovered components, at the price of increased risk if done outside the workshop.
- Genuine stealth — hiding, moving crouched and eliminating quietly to save bullets.
- Character upgrades — skill trees for health, stealth, combat and recovery.
- Striking enemies — antagonists with very elaborate staging, including a photographer who freezes time.
