Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium – Retail Key (1 PC)

Windows 7 Home Premium was the most widely used consumer edition of Windows 7, with the Aero interface, Media Center, HomeGroup and multi-monitor support. This Retail licence covers 1 PC.

A note on support

Windows 7 has reached the end of its support life, and Microsoft no longer issues security updates for it. A PC running it on the Internet does not receive fixes for vulnerabilities found since. For that reason, this licence is not meant for a main computer that is connected to the Internet. It is aimed at the cases below.

Typical uses

• Older computers with drivers that exist only for Windows 7 and that newer systems do not support.
• Virtual machines, to build an isolated Windows 7 environment for testing software or reproducing a technical set-up.
• Legacy business applications certified only for Windows 7, on a PC kept off the network.
• Equipment control, for machines and measuring instruments whose software was never ported to a newer Windows.

What Home Premium offers

• Aero interface with transparency, Aero Peek, Aero Snap and taskbar previews.
• Windows Media Center for watching and recording TV and managing a media library.
• HomeGroup for easier sharing of files and printers on a home network.
• Multi-monitor and touchscreen support.
• No BitLocker, XP Mode or domain join: those belong to the Pro and Ultimate editions.
