Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus LTSC is the complete Office suite for 1 PC, supplied here as a key that is activated by phone with Microsoft rather than online. The phone call is the one extra step compared with a standard online key, and it is worth knowing about before you order.
How phone activation works
Once Office is installed, choose the phone activation option in the activation wizard. Office displays an Installation ID made up of 9 blocks of digits. Call the number Microsoft gives you, read those digits to the automated voice service, then type in the Confirmation ID it gives back. Set aside around ten minutes at the computer. When this is done, the licence is validated permanently on that workstation.
Applications in the suite
- Word 2024: word processing, dictation, review tools and mail merge.
- Excel 2024: spreadsheets with dynamic array functions, Power Query and VBA macros.
- PowerPoint 2024: presentations, the Morph transition and slide show recording.
- Outlook 2024: locally installed e-mail with calendar and contacts.
- Access 2024: relational databases.
- OneNote: digital notebook.
An edition that stays the same
The LTSC edition receives no feature updates and has no cloud features and no Copilot. Its interface and behaviour remain constant, which suits stable workstations and environments where in-house macros and procedures need to keep working as they are.
