Dune: Awakening is an open-world multiplayer survival game developed by Funcom, set on Arrakis, the desert planet of Frank Herbert's universe. You start with nothing in the middle of the dunes: the first constraint is water, the second the sun, the third the sandworms, drawn by any prolonged vibration on the surface. The game blends survival, crafting, base building and player-versus-player clashes over the most contested zones.
What awaits you
- Survival in the desert — managing water, distillers, stillsuits and shelters against the heat of the day.
- Sandworms — moving too long across open sand attracts a worm; rocky terrain becomes a vital refuge.
- Base building — modular buildings, power, workshops and defences to set up in authorised zones.
- Progression and skills — several combat schools to mix, with active and passive abilities.
- Vehicles — ornithopters, buggies and crafted machines to cross the map and escape the worms.
- Conflict zone — the Deep Desert concentrates spice harvesting and player-versus-player fighting for its control.
