CODE VEIN II is the sequel to the Bandai Namco action-RPG, sitting halfway between the demanding Souls-like action game and anime aesthetics. You play a Revenant, a half-human half-vampire being condemned to seek blood to avoid succumbing, in a ruined post-apocalyptic world. The fights are slow, readable and punishing: each enemy requires you to learn its attack chains before you can defeat it.
What awaits you
- Demanding combat — stamina to manage, parries and dodges with tight timing, and recovery of your lost experience points at the place of your death.
- Swappable class system — Blood Codes can be changed at any time and completely redefine your style: heavy, agile, magical or hybrid.
- Blood gifts — active and passive skills to unlock then transfer from one Code to another, to build your own loadout.
- AI-controlled companion — an ally accompanies you, takes hits and revives you, which makes the adventure more approachable than the genre's benchmarks.
- Exploration of interconnected areas — shortcuts to open, rest points to find and imposing bosses at the end of each sector.
