BeamNG.drive is not a racing game but an automotive sandbox built around a very particular physics simulation: each vehicle is modelled as a structure of deformable beams and nodes. In practice, an impact genuinely bends the bodywork in the right place, a suspension breaks, a chassis twists and the vehicle's behaviour changes accordingly. This approach produces crashes of unusual realism and driving that responds finely to the terrain and the condition of the mechanicals.
