AVG Internet Security 2023 protects a computer against viruses, ransomware, phishing and network intrusions, for 1 device for 1 year. This 2023 edition brings a behavioural detection engine that is faster than the 2022 version and a simplified interface. This is a generation earlier than the current version: the signature and threat definition updates remain provided throughout the licence period.
What the protection includes
- Behavioural analysis — monitors what programs do rather than their signature alone, which makes it possible to stop novel threats.
- Smart firewall — controls network traffic application by application and adapts its severity level to the type of network detected.
- Enhanced protection against ransomware — whitelist of applications authorised to modify your personal folders.
- Fake sites and booby-trapped emails — blocks phishing pages and scans received attachments.
- Online payments — verifies that the banking site visited is indeed the legitimate site before any transaction.
- Webcam and sensitive data — prevents unauthorised access to the camera and flags personal files exposed on the disk.
- Do Not Disturb mode — pauses notifications during games, presentations and video conferences.
