Avast SecureLine VPN 2023 is a virtual private network: it encrypts your Internet traffic and replaces your IP address with that of a remote server. It is not an antivirus and it detects no malware: it protects the privacy of the connection, not the files on the machine. The licence covers 10 devices for 1 year. This is a 2023 edition, earlier than the current version; the service and the server list remain maintained for the entire duration of the licence.
Main features
- Traffic encryption — your communications are protected on public Wi-Fi (hotel, airport, café), where open networks expose you the most.
- IP address masking — the sites you visit see the VPN server's address and not that of your real connection.
- Servers in many countries — useful for accessing your usual services while travelling abroad.
- Kill switch — automatically cuts off network access if the VPN tunnel drops, to prevent any traffic leak.
- No volume limit — speed and data amount are not capped by the licence.
- Ten simultaneous devices — computers, phones and tablets can be connected at the same time.
Compatibility
Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 (SP1), macOS, Android and iOS. A dedicated app exists for each platform. An Internet connection is of course required; speeds depend on the chosen server and on your line.
