McAfee Total Protection as a long-term licence: 1 PC for 5 years. The appeal of this option is simple — you cover your computer for five full years in a single go, without having to renew each year or keep an eye on an expiry date. The key is global: its validity is not restricted to a region, it activates from Switzerland as from any other country. Total Protection is McAfee's top edition: on top of the antivirus and firewall of Internet Security, it adds the VPN, the password manager and identity monitoring.
What the protection includes
- Antivirus and anti-ransomware — continuous protection, with threat definitions updated throughout the whole 5-year period.
- Secure VPN — encrypted connection to browse on public Wi-Fi networks without exposing your data.
- Password manager — encrypted vault and automatic filling of your credentials.
- Identity monitoring — alert if your personal data appears in a recorded breach.
- Firewall and web protection — filtering of connections and blocking of fraudulent sites.
Compatibility
Windows 11, 10 and 8.1. Allow for 2 GB of RAM and a permanent Internet connection. On a 5-year licence, McAfee automatically upgrades the software to successive versions: you benefit from the product's developments without buying again.
Activation
The activation key arrives by email within 24 hours maximum. Create or open your McAfee account, enter the code in the subscription section, then install the software on the relevant PC. The 5-year period starts at the moment of activation, not at the order.
