Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Nintendo's kart racing game and one of the most played titles on the Switch. You drive the characters of the Mario universe on colourful tracks full of shortcuts, jumps, anti-gravity sections and items to pick up — shells, banana peels, boost mushrooms and the inevitable lightning bolt. The driving is immediately accessible, with auto-steering aids for younger players, while still keeping a genuine skill ceiling thanks to drifting and the mini-turbo.
What awaits you
- 48 base tracks — split across twelve cups, mixing brand-new layouts and revisited classics from the series.
- Full Battle mode — eight arenas and several rule sets, including Balloon Battle and Coin Runners.
- Up to four local players — split screen on the same console, or wireless play between several Switch units.
- Online play — races against other players, with rankings and tournaments.
