AVG Protection Pro for Android is the paid version of AVG's mobile antivirus, for 1 Android device for 1 year. It protects a smartphone or tablet against malicious apps, fraudulent links and device theft. Unlike the free version, it removes advertising and adds app locking, intruder photos and direct support.
What the protection includes
- App scanning — every installed app, including those from outside the Play Store, is checked before and after installation.
- Web protection — blocks phishing sites and booby-trapped links received by SMS or messaging.
- Anti-theft — remote locating, locking, triggering an alarm and wiping data in case of loss.
- Intruder photo — discreetly takes a snapshot with the front camera after several wrong codes.
- App locking — code-protects access to your messages, your gallery or your banking app.
- Wi-Fi network verification — flags open or poorly secured networks before you connect to them.
- Ad-free — the Pro edition removes the banners present in the free version.
