Assassin's Creed Shadows on Xbox Series X|S offers an open world set in late 16th-century Japan. The player alternates between two complementary protagonists: Naoe, a fast and silent shinobi and Yasuke, a samurai whose power lets him take on the guards directly. The game takes advantage of the Xbox Series hardware with detailed rendering of the seasonal environments and short loading times thanks to the console's fast storage.
What awaits you
- Infiltration or strength — two characters, two skill sets, two ways to resolve each objective.
- Four playable seasons — snow, rain and vegetation alter visibility, tracks and accessible paths.
- Light management — extinguished lanterns create genuine, usable shadow zones.
- A base to grow — a hideout to build, allies to recruit and send on missions.
- Varied Japanese weapons — katana, naginata, kusarigama, bow and shinobi tools.
- Investigations — cross-checking clues with contacts to trace your way back to the targets.
