Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is FromSoftware's action-adventure game that places you in the shoes of a one-armed shinobi, in a Sengoku-period Japan shot through with mysticism. Your young master has been abducted; your mission is to reclaim him. Where the Souls games offered classes and statistics, Sekiro imposes a single character and a combat system based on posture: parrying at the right moment breaks your opponent's balance and opens the way to a fatal blow. The learning curve is harsh, but mastering the timing brings a rare satisfaction.
What awaits you
- Rhythmic combat — parries, deflections and reading unblockable attacks rather than rolls and dodges.
- Verticality through the grappling hook — the levels are traversed from above, which completely changes the approach to areas.
- Authentic stealth — spotting the patrols, eliminating quietly and easing the fights to come.
- Tool prosthetic — a mechanical arm to equip with varied gadgets, each useful against a specific type of enemy.
- On-the-spot resurrection — a mechanic that offers an immediate second chance, a double-edged one.
