Mafia: The Old Country is the new instalment in the Mafia series, developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K. Unlike the previous instalments set in the United States, this one takes place in Sicily in the early 20th century and tells the origins of the Cosa Nostra through the rise of a young man who enters the service of a family. The game is a single-player narrative action-adventure title, in keeping with the series' chapter-based structure.
What awaits you
- A scripted single-player campaign — the Mafia saga has always favoured storytelling and staging over the sandbox; the missions follow one another in chapters.
- Sicilian setting — villages, sulphur quarries, countryside and mountain roads of a Sicily recreated for the era.
- Third-person action — gunfights with period weapons, close combat and travel on horseback or in early-century automobiles.
- Stealth and driving sections — the series traditionally alternates between a discreet approach, chases and open confrontations.
- Sound design and voice acting — the series' usual care for music and voices, with a place given to Italian.
