Dark Souls III is the third-person action RPG from FromSoftware, directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The kingdom of Lothric is nearing its end: the Lords of Cinder have deserted their thrones and you are awakened to return them there. The game does not hold your hand: you learn through failure, you memorise enemy patterns, and you recover your lost souls at the exact spot of your last death.
What awaits you
- Tight-timing combat — limited stamina, dodges, parries and ripostes; charging in headlong never works.
- Character building — ten starting classes and free distribution of points between vigour, strength, dexterity, intelligence and faith.
- Interconnected areas — from the Ringed City to the Archives, with shortcuts to unlock that reward exploration.
- Multi-phase bosses — every major confrontation changes form partway through and demands a fresh read.
- Weapon Arts — each weapon has a special skill that consumes focus, redefining its use.
- Online component — messages from other players, cooperative summons and PvP invasions.
